Masti Ke Ghol
Nirmal Chayya, the Family Resource Centre at the Nirmal Bhartia School, offers a platform to parents, grandparents and other family members to be active participants in the activities of the school. This involvement strengthens support and builds positive relationships and creates a circle of trust between the community and the school.
The theme for this year's 'Masti Ke Ghol', the joint parent-school production, was 'Stories'.
The day began with a 'T7 cricket match' with mixed teams from the parent and teacher community. One didn't need to go to South Africa to feel the excitement and enthusiasm of the IPL. The two rival teams the Blazing Blues and the Rocking Reds, geared up in their respective coloured caps, lined up for the toss as the spectators waited holding their breath. The Blazing Blues won the toss and decided to bat. Amidst cheers and much applaud the Blazing Blues team smashed the ball across the boundary line and put up an impressive score of 98 for the loss of 5 wickets in the seven overs. The Rocking Reds started with a bang and gave a befitting reply, but could put up only 95 runs in the given 7 overs. Although winner trophies were awarded to each of the Blazing Blue team members, the first match of the Nirmal League ended with there being no losers at all…
A short breakfast break, was followed by the 'Masti ke Ghol 'production, 'Nani ki kahani, Alibaba ki zubani' with great gusto, a cultural bonanza of song, dance and drama. Children, teachers, parents as well as grandparents all participated - as the entire community got together as one to make and enjoy a sweet and sour 'GHOL'.
