National Summit of School Principals on Discipline - New Challenges
The seminar took place in the CCRT auditorium, on 20 August 2009 and was organised by the ICRTC ,which is a national level organisation facilitating educational initiatives through NGO's and government agencies.
To curb' today' kind of discipline problems we need positive disciplining. Possible reasons for child's misbehaviour were discussed and preventive measures were discussed. Some of the speakers were Ms Asha who had been the Chairperson of NCERT , Ms. Indu - a nenowed psychologist .
The main suggestion of the Summit was that we need to involve the parents in our policy-making decisions of the school, positive reinforcement of disciplne, delayed gratification in the child's case, bring in spiritualism / yoga techniques to calm the child, and develop respect and understanding for others.
