Teachers' Day
It was the first time that our parent community got together and presented a morning show for the educators on the occasion of TEACHERS’ DAY. Teachers were welcomed in the traditional Indian style with aarti, tikkas and showering of rose petals .
The children of NBS conducted a special assembly thanking the teachers for their hard work and commitment. A “guessing game” describing each teacher’s characteristics added lots of excitement among the school children. While most of the answers were provided correctly by the staff members there was a fair amount of OOHH! AAHH’s! among the teachers.
Parents sang appropriate songs for each teacher while giving away personalized gifts . Their appreciation was inscribed on each gift with a beautiful poem. A delicious chocolate cake was cut to celebrate the occasion with the teachers and the parent community sharing special moments . This event indeed goes down in history as the first time that parents got together to put up an independent show on Teachers’ Day .
The party continued for the teachers . They had a great round of PASSING THE PARCEL and enjoyed carrying out tasks mentioned on the slips. It reminded many teachers of their childhood memories … “ the anxiety pangs and the butterflies in the stomach “ as they were seen pushing the parcel and refusing to accept it. From pinning 20 board pins in 30 seconds to counting in Hindi…..dancing to the music and performing Goldilocks and the three bears ….our teachers were excellent at each and every task.
After a scrumptious lunch at Nirula’s the teachers could not believe their luck when they entered the COLOR FACTORY where each group of teachers came up with a new design for our school logo. They ranged from joining of hands to a well nutured and looked after tree…with all the multi-hued mosaic chips they were all breath taking.
