Using Drama for effective learning in the mainstream classroom
The workshop on 'Using Drama for Effective Learning in the Mainstream Classroom ' was for two days and was conducted by Ms. Kriti Sharma .
The workshop was conducted in Vasant Valley School, and took place from 11 to 12 of August 2009, and was organized by Learn Today.
The workshop focused on teachers teaching classes 5-12 and served as a tool to train teachers in using drama as a technique for learning in their subject area. It could also be used as a platform for solving social and personal problems in the school for the students and the teachers.
On the first day, the teachers were made to lose their inhibitions and barriers and be with the 'flow'.
A series of ice-breakers and activities related to bringing one's subject alive in the classroom were conducted
On day two, teachers were asked to portray a class room filled with problems and effective on the second methods of finding answers to deal with such situations.
On the whole, this workshop was well conducted.
