The objective of the activity was to teach children to write a paragraph correctly. The 'Traffic Signal System' activity was used as a group activity to enable the children to identify the main idea and purpose of each sentence. The students worked in groups with their own topics. The paragraph was written on green, yellow and red strips, indicating the go sentence (green), the continue sentence (yellow), and the concluding sentence (red). How the MLA’s for a legislative assembly are chosen and how they meet to discuss the various issues concerning their constituencies was what the students of classVII enacted. The issue for this session was Health care problems in the different sectors of Dwarka in Delhi Region. The students were the ‘MLAs’ from different constituencies. Each ‘MLA’ presented his report on the Health care facilities, in his region based on the data collected by their health officer. The students(‘MLAs’) also cross questioned the Ministers, as to what necessary steps were taken to tackle the water pollution. An interesting way to visualize how the government works!
