The NBS team is comprised of a group of distinguished professionals
who bring with them a wide diversity of experience, expertise
and talent and a common commitment to the cause of education.
Ms. Pooja Jhaver - Chairperson
She completed her schooling from Carmel Covent, New Delhi
and graduated from St. Stephens College, Delhi University
with an Honours Degree in Economics. She then went on for
further studies to the University of Oxford and specialised
in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
With a keen interest in curriculum development and school
reform, she pursued a Masters' in International and Comparative
Education from Columbia University and conducted research
for The School, Krishnamurti Foundation India, Chennai. A
progressive thinker and a visionary committed to the cause
of education, she has been instrumental in founding the Nirmal
Bhartia School.
Ms. Charu Wahi - Principal
An alumna of Carmel Convent and Modern School, Vasant Vihar,
Ms. Charu Wahi completed her graduation in Psychology Honours
at Lady Shri Ram College and then went on to pursue a Master's
degree in Applied Psychology and specialised in Child Development.
An inspiring leader and motivated learner, Ms. Wahi continuously
strives to keep abreast of the latest research in the field
of education.
As a Principal of the Nirmal Bhartia School, she leads from
the front, sharing her passion and encouraging all around
her to keep learning and striving for perfection...lifelong.
Ms. Vibha Bhasin - Vice Principal
She completed her schooling from Lawrence School,
Sanawar and graduated from Punjab University. She went on
to pursue a Nursery and Primary Teacher's Training Diploma
and later attained a Bachelor's Degree of Education from the
Annamalai University in English and Social Studies.
Ms. Bhasin brings with her eighteen years of
rich and diverse experiences in the field. She inspires one
and all to strive for and attain perfection.
Ms. Manjari Chaturvedi - Sufi Kathak Dancer
She trained in the Lucknow gharana of kathak under the guidance
of Arjun Mishra and has studied abhinaya under Kalanidhi Narayan
at Protima Bedi’s Nrityagram. She is particularly drawn to
Sufi mysticism. She is known for creating a new art form of
Indian classical dance called Sufi Kathak.
Dr. Amrita Dass - Director - Institute for Career Studies
She is a leading Educationist and Career-Consultant of the
country. She is the Founder-Director of ICS-International
and has the distinction of pioneering the career counselling
and guidance services in the country. She is a recipient of
the Lions Club Award for outstanding Social Work and the Rotary
Award for Vocational Excellence and has recently been felicitated
as a "Woman Achiever" by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Mr. Vir Sanghvi was brought up in Mumbai and London
and studied at Mayo College, Ajmer, and Mill Hill School,
London. His journalistic career began with India Today. Mr.
Vir Sanghvi is among India's leading print and TV journalists.
Currently, he is Editorial Director of the Hindustan Times.
Dr. Kavita Sharma - Director - India International Centre
Dr. Kavita Sharma is the Director of India International Centre.
She has been the Principal, Hindu College for the past 10
years. She holds a doctorate in English from Delhi University.
Dr. Sharma has been awarded several fellowships and awards.
U S Bhartia - Industrialist
Mr US Bhartia, the promoter and Chairman of the Bhartia Group,
is a renowned industrialist and has over 30 years of experience
in managing large- scale industrial companies. He has been
associated with India Glycols Limited for over 12 years as
the Managing Director. He has contributed immensely to developing
and introducing quality chemicals, he was conferred the Udyog
Ratna award in 2005.
Ms. Leena Aparajit - Advisor and Consultant - Aga Khan
Foundation
Ms. Aparajit has the distinction of being the founding Head
of the Senior School of The Shri Ram School, Gurgaon, which
in a short span of a time acquired a formidable reputation,
as a leader in educational thought. Her passion in life is
education. She continues to work in this area sharing the
vast competencies that she has acquired over the years.
Amita Baig - Director - World Monument Fund
Ms. Amita Baig is a Heritage Management Consultant to the
World Monuments Fund in India, the Namgyal Institute for Research
on Ladakhi Art and Culture, UNESCO, the Taj Mahal Conservation,
Collaborative and Founder Trustee of the Jaisalmer Heritage
Trust. She joined the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural
Heritage at its inception and was Director General of the
Architectural Heritage Division from 1993 to 1999.
Abhinav
Singh Bindra - Olympic Gold Medallist (Shooting)
Mr. Abhinav Singh Bindra, an Indian shooter from Zirakpur,
Mohali, Punjab is the current World and Olympic champion in
the 10 m Air Rifle event. He became the first Indian to win
an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games.
He along with Gagan Narang shot in unison to set a Games record
in 10m air rifle pair's event for men to win the first gold
for India in the 19th Commonwealth Games. Mr. Bindra has also
been awarded the Arjuna Award, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna
and the Padma Bhushan.
