To mark the celebration of the 69th Republic Day, students across the school with an immense feeling of pride put up as special assembly. The assembly began with presented a role play depicting how our constitution came into picture. They focussed mainly on the issue of caste and how it was dealt in the debates of the constituent assembly. They represented the founding members of the Constituent Assembly such as Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, Maulana Azad and Mahatma Gandhi. They gave their historic speeches echoing the philosophy of Constitution. The act gave an insight into the making of the Constitution and its importance. They also recited the preamble to make the children understand the true meaning of the terms like equality, secularism, republic and fraternity. This was followed by the recitation of the book ‘We the children of India’ by Justice (Late) Leila Seth. Ariz Siddiqui and Aryan Kaushik of class XI narrated excerpts from famous speeches of former Presidents- Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma and Shri Abdul Kalam. The assembly was concluded with a melodious song ‘Hind Desh Ke Niwasi’ by students of class IX highlighting the beauty in the diversity of our country. The assembly was indeed an enriching one where students went back with learning’s about their country and their constitution.
