On 4th November classes VII and VIII participated in an interesting Inter House English Quiz in the Assembly Hall. The objective behind organizing the quiz was to cover all the grammar concepts done in class like Active- Passive Voice, Reported Speech, Adverbs, Adjectives, Subject- Verb Agreement and Phrases etc.
The aim was to give a revision to the children before the onset of the next set of Formative Assessments. It also covered the ones which the children are familiar with and have been doing since Junior School.
Therefore the quiz was primarily based on grammar with some brain tickling rounds on vocabulary as well. The children participated enthusiastically vying with each other for every point.
Each answer given by a team was keenly debated and discussed by the other teams displaying the level of competitiveness with which each round was played.Like they say the best is always saved for the last, the last two rounds were of Crossword and Spellathon respectively.
Both gave an opportunity to all the teams to score as much as they could and square up with their opponents or may be leave them behind. At the end of the completion of all the rounds Banyan House and Peepal House were tied at 138 points each with Ashoka and Neem following them closely at 129 and 107.5 respectively.
