‘Jai Ho – An Assembly on Independence Day’

The 69th  Independence Day was celebrated at NiBS with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The school looked festive with tricolour buntings. The toddlers of Ankur and Pallav were dressed in vibrant tri-coloured dresses.

The assembly commenced with the ‘shlokas’, invoking peace and prosperity. A soulful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ by the junior school students, filled the air with patriotism.

It was followed by the recital of a Hindi poem “yeh swatantrata kaisi hai, aur kaisi hai yeh aazadi” which showcased that, how the patriotic feeling and noble ideas -that went into creating free India ,are losing their meaning. Above all, the threatening black holes of bribery, communalism and casteism still curb our country.

A beautiful PowerPoint presentation on “India of my dreams” was conceived and shared by the students of class IX. The presentation showcased the robust aspirations of young Indians from being a self-sufficient economy to a corruption free India thereby, becoming a world leader in all aspects.

Pulsating with rhythm and harmony the stage came alive as students presented a fusion dance – ‘Jai Ho!’ based on the theme of peace, progress and unity in diversity. It encompassed a vibrant display of colours, festivity and nationalism.

Renewing the pledge to serve the motherland, the celebrations came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
