Prakriti week, a celebration of science and math enrichment activities , took place from 17th to 21st of July, 2017. This was a collaborative venture of the Science and Math department. These series of activities was aimed at improving the observational, analytical and logical skills of the students. The Prakriti week started on 17th July with a Math and Science Inter-house quiz ‘BRIANGLE’. The quiz was conducted on two levels- Middle and senior school level. The quiz tested the visual, logical reasoning and analytical skills of the children. On 19th July, Mr. Varun Narayan, a puppeteer, a Botany graduate from Hans Raj College and a Science enthusiast presented a scintillating and captivating puppet show based on the theme ‘Photosynthesis by Moonlight’. He demonstrated a beautiful integration of Science with Art through his contemporary style of puppetry. On 21st July, students from grade IX- XI highlighted the benefits of traditional Ayurvedic home remedies and therapies through a humorous play. The play not only integrated the annual theme ‘Out of this world’ but also showcased the scientific relevance behind the age old remedies in our day to day life. Prakriti week culminated with a display of innovative and attractive models made by the students. The models were well appreciated by the judges – Dr. Sunita Garg (Senior Scientist NISCAR, Pusa) and Mrs. Rajni Vasudeva (Retd. Supervisory Incharge, D.A.V. Public School, Vikas Puri).
