“Great tidings of joy we bring to you this season, let love be the gift for us all.”
The young Santas of class V Bahaar invited Christmas into the NiBS family in their own creative way. On 23rd December 2015, the amphitheatre was packed with the students and teachers from classes Ankur to twelfth to celebrate the last working day of the school.
The assembly began with the shloka recital followed by the news and thought for the day. The assembly then proceeded to a unique nukkad nattak where all the children dressed in red and black echoed to the tunes of the dafli.
The santa running onto the stage singing Jingle bells was the highlight which got the audience excited. Each of them shared the importance of the symbols which complete the Christmas decoration, adding meaning and value to the celebration.
It was a joy to see the ten year olds speak boldly the learning they gained this season; the Christmas tree motivates to make a vow to save our mother earth, the star reminds us to believe in miracles, the santa claus urges us to be generous, the bells ring into our ears the need to pray for one another and the burning candle takes away every darkness spreading the joy of the season.
The assembly culminated with the melodious singing of the Christmas carol ‘Love grows at Christmas Time’ and the icing on the cake was the ‘merry Christmas – happy new year’ song which spread its radiance to all and gave a wonderful beginning to the last working day of the year.
