In order to develop an interest in ‘Space Science’ and illustrate basic astronomical concepts, the Science Society organised a movie viewing session on Saturday, 19 August 2017, in our school. Students experienced a real world space adventure while viewing the movie “Gravity” by Warner Bros.
The movie helped them understand that space exploration has become increasingly dangerous due to increased man-made orbital debris. They also learnt about how astronauts train to work and survive in space. The most important lesson they learnt was to be brave and resourceful in the face of adversity.
The movie highlighted the importance of Gravity in our lives. At the end of the session, students participated in a group discussion based on some of the outstanding features of the movie and also filled in a movie review worksheet to express their learning.
