The Talking Masks of Mexico

Exploring the annual theme-‘Around the world in 200 days’, the students of class VI visited the India International Centre on Thursday, 28th July 2016, to witness the Mexican Mask Exhibition.  The walk through the hall observing each mask was indeed a journey through the rich tribal heritage of Mexico. We were given a brochure which included the relevance and the origin of the masks in the Mexican culture.

To add more meaning to our visit, a short documentary was shared, taking us through the use of masks in the Mexican celebrations. We culminated the days visit by asking the students to re-create their favourite mask and to share why it stood out from the rest.

It was a learning experience for all and we proudly took another step in our study about Mexico.
