As an extension to their study about the Indus Valley Civilization, Class VI visited the National Museum on 24th October 2017. The students were taken through the Museum by the ‘Yuva Sathi’ volunteers. The volunteers also introduced the students to the other civilizations existing during the same time period as the Indus Valley Civilization. The students were also briefed about the beginning of Buddhism and Jainism. The Harappan world literally came alive as the group stopped and viewed the Indus Valley Section of the Museum. The excavated remains of a woman with her ornaments and pots, the sculpture of the mother goddess, the image of the citadel and lower city with the detailed plan of water harvesting were a few spots the young historians observed and enquired about. The visit concluded with a set of worksheets to review and reflect on the visit and their learnings.
