Visit to a Heritage Site

Students of class VII (Basant and Bahaar) went on an educational trip to Humayun Tomb located at Nizammudin, East Delhi. The tomb was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1993.Students were accompanied by experts from INTACH who discussed in detail about the history, culture and architectural facts about the monument. Students also learnt about the painstaking efforts being put in by both the Archaeological Survey of India and the Aga Khan Trust to renovate and preserve the archaeological marvel. The trip was well organized, students also visited other tombs in the complex for example Afsarwala tomb, Bu Halima’s tomb and appreciated the beautiful amalgamation of Persian and Mughal architecture.
