The students of grade VII visited ‘Godhuli’, a Senior Citizens Home in Sector two, Dwarka, New Delhi as an extension of their Hindi chapter ‘dadima’. The objective of the visit was to instill certain values in the students and make them recognize the importance of the elderly in our lives. The students brought a lot of happiness and excitement to the senior’s home by performing a short play, singing some old Hindi songs and interacting with the seniors by having some very meaningful conversations with some of the elderly members.
All the members of the home showered the students with blessings, and spoke to them about the downbeat of having a selfish attitude and the importance of community service. The students ended this day on a lovely note by distributing some handmade cards as a goodwill gesture. The students spoke about their r learnings and experiences in a class discussion.
